Ssalongo Prosper’s unusual journey to support the Uganda Cranes has earned him a cash reward after he cycled from Kampala to Hoima to watch and cheer on the national team.

Prosper said he made the long bicycle trip out of his love for Uganda and the desire to stand behind the Cranes, despite the challenges involved.
He explained that, when he considered the overall costs, the money he would have spent on transport to Hoima would not have been enough to match the experience he gained from making the journey by bicycle.
“Whites say, no risk, no story,” Prosper said, reflecting on his decision to take on the challenge.
His determination caught the attention of FUFA President Moses Magogo, who rewarded him with US$400 in appreciation of his effort and patriotism.
