Ugandan singer
has revealed that although she believes in marriage, she does not see herself getting married, citing personal views shaped by experiences she has witnessed among married couples.
Speaking during an appearance on The Villa in Bukoto, hosted by Mr Henrie, the Quinamino hitmaker acknowledged that her position could spark controversy but maintained that marriage is not for everyone.
“I believe in marriage, and I believe it has to happen, but I don’t think it is meant for me,” Azawi said.
The singer clarified that her views do not undermine people who choose marriage, noting that many find fulfilment and inspiration in building their lives around the institution.
She added that witnessing different experiences among married people has influenced her perspective, making her hesitant to pursue marriage herself.
During the conversation, Azawi was also asked how she handles her natural needs if she does not intend to marry. Responding humorously, she said she simply eats and passes through, maintaining her candid approach to personal questions.
Her remarks have offered a glimpse into her personal views on relationships and marriage, an institution that remains an important social expectation in many communities.
