Ugandan media personality DJ Nimrod has opened up about his views on friendships between men and women, admitting that he deliberately keeps his friendship circle small because sexual attraction can complicate such relationships.
Speaking during an interview with a YouTuber, Nimrod suggested that some women may only remain in his circle of friends because he has not pursued anything sexual with them.
The outspoken DJ also addressed the common debate about whether two close friends of the opposite sex can travel together and even share a bed without crossing any boundaries.
Using a hypothetical trip to Jinja, Nimrod said that while nothing might happen between two friends on one occasion, he could not guarantee that the same would always be the case.
According to him, sharing a bed without anything happening could be influenced by different circumstances.
> “The only reason why we would sleep in the same bed and nothing happens would probably be because, one, nothing was meant to happen. Two, I restrained myself. Three, I’m buying your trust.”

His comments have once again sparked debate about friendship boundaries, trust and whether genuine platonic relationships between men and women can exist without sexual attraction or expectations.
