Ugandan singer Cindy Sanyu has described the bitter online exchange between Gloria Bugie and Crysto Panda as a “fair fight,” arguing that both artists crossed personal boundaries during their heated war of words.
The week saw the long-running tension between the two musicians erupt once again on social media, with Gloria Bugie coming under heavy criticism after making remarks about Crysto Panda’s personal losses.
In a post on X, Bugie questioned the singer’s status as an orphan and also referenced the loss of his child, suggesting that his misfortunes were a result of karma.
Her remarks immediately sparked outrage online, with many netizens accusing her of crossing the line by using deeply personal tragedies as weapons in an entertainment feud.
Fellow singer Sheebah Karungi was among those who strongly condemned Bugie’s comments, describing such attacks as “evil.”
Sheebah argued that anyone willing to use another person’s loss of a parent or child as a weapon during an argument had gone beyond acceptable boundaries.
However, Cindy Sanyu sees the situation differently.
Speaking in an interview with Tawfiq Media, the self-styled “King Herself” acknowledged that Gloria Bugie’s remarks were extreme but maintained that the conflict became a fair battle after Crysto Panda allegedly made personal comments about Bugie’s body.
“I think the war is fair. There was fire from the East, and then came fire from the West, so it doesn’t matter how brutal it is. A war is a war. It’s fire for fire. There is no innocent side.”

Cindy explained that women can be deeply sensitive about their bodies and appearance, particularly after investing significant time and effort into looking good.
According to her, publicly attacking a woman’s appearance can cause serious emotional hurt and may provoke a harsh response.
> “This is a woman; our bodies are sacred to us, and we are very sensitive about our bodies. Somebody has taken time to make themselves beautiful, and you just trash all her efforts in one go. It would hurt a woman very deeply.”
While admitting that Bugie’s comments about Crysto Panda’s deceased parents and child went “over the line,” Cindy maintained that both artists had exchanged painful blows.
She called for the two musicians to heal from the conflict and eventually move on, saying neither side should be viewed as completely innocent.
