Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has said President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s remarks about the number of years he has left before reaching 100 years point to his continued interest in Uganda’s presidency.

According to Namyalo, Museveni told them that he had 12 years left to make 100 years, a statement she interpreted as an indication that he still intends to remain active in presidential leadership.
The remarks come as Museveni, who turned 82 on September 15, 2026, continues his seventh term as President of Uganda. In a recent birthday message, Museveni himself said that the well-wishes and God’s blessings would push him and the First Lady for “another just 18 years” to reach 100 years of age.
Namyalo currently heads the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), where she serves as a senior presidential adviser and is involved in activities supporting the NRM National Chairman.
Museveni was sworn in for his seventh term on May 12, 2026, according to the Office of the President.
