President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has welcomed a proposal by NRM Youth League National Secretary Natasha Ahereza for a Town Hall meeting to discuss issues surrounding integration and the environment.
In a post shared on X, Museveni thanked Ahereza and her colleagues for their messages on the two issues, saying he fully agreed with the proposed engagement.
“Natasha Ahereza, National Secretary NRM Youth League wants what she calls a Town Hall meeting with me to discuss all this. I totally agree,” Museveni wrote.
The President also asked his daughter, Natasha Karugire, to work with Ahereza in organising the meeting.
“My daughter, Natasha Karugire, had previously organized the Jazz with Jajja at Kisozi and Nakasero. Let her work with Ahereza to organize the meeting you want. I will be happy to participate,” he added.
The exchange points to a planned direct engagement between the President and the NRM Youth League leadership, with integration and environmental concerns expected to form part of the discussions.
Ahereza currently serves as General Secretary of the NRM Youth League. She has also recently participated in youth leadership discussions focusing on listening to citizens, understanding their concerns and developing practical solutions.
The timing of the proposed meeting comes as the NRM continues to engage younger leaders and supporters on governance, development and issues affecting communities.
