Questions:
What was the initial spark or specific gap in the Ugandan western music industry that led you to start singing
There wasn’t a particular spark to be exact, I just loved music and decided to do it after my university studies. it wasn’t easy at the start but it has continued being better with time
How would you describe your music and passion towards the music industry and how do you ensure your music remains authentic to the local audience?
My music is more of everything in one, I do music for creating happy emotions, music for reflecting on life and daily problems of society and most importantly its driven by passion. I would say am in the industry that much because I am transitioning to the “music business”. when it comes to maintaining authenticity, I try so much to keep the music relatable and original because at the end of the, I have to make sure fans listen to what they will understand and associate with. Simple logic of “Sing Chinese for Chinese and Chinese will listen”
How do you handle your normal life and artististry life
Its quite complex because most people find it hard to distinguish between GBOY the artist and Melvin the Normal person who isn’t much into the limelight. When it comes to like family and stuff, I don’t put them in any media or show them up. I need them protected from the public pressures just in case. I don’t want them to suffer for what they didn’t signup for

What has been the most significant challenge you have faced so far?
No particular Challenges so far, just that e are in an industry of liaises faire, whoever wants joins, whoever wishes leaves. This leaves us with no mode of operation and we have to deal with every character that we find or finds us. Also, the fact that the language I sing is much more a growing language that is still being embraced. Lucky enough, it has gained momentum in the recent passed and that has been with the contribution of the seniors in the industry.
which artist would you love to collaborate with?
There are so many artists that I would actually love to work with. I see a great deal in Heli Bebi from Kasese, Genee and Kim Xera from Hoima, Sir Kisoro from Kisoro, Eazzy da Lyrical from the north and quite several from the central. So, no particular artist but am open to collaborations especially from languages that I don’t speak because I feel it teaches me more and helps me understand diversity quite more

Where do you see the Ugandan entertainment industry heading in the next five years, and how are you positioning for that future?
I see a lot of growth; I see old trends totally phasing out and the youngins getting the stage. With the younger generation accepting the new normal trend of digital music promotion via social media and many other avenues, it’s going to be a hard time for those who are not embracing the new business model musically. Am looking at making music that resonates with the new crowd
What advice would you give to the youth in the same industry?
I say, learn to network, do stuff in a mor professional; way, seek knowledge and make a lot of research about the music and the music business. On top of that, if possible, avoid drugs if you are still broke or financially mid. It’s oaky to light a joint at the glass balcony of your house after eating heavy chicken soup

When did you begin your music career and who inspired you?
I started officially 2020, the covid came through, I got inspired musically by Jose Chameleon and the late Radio when it comes to lyrics, Eddy Kenzo too is a great influence in my music because if his Consistency. I listen and love BobiWines music from way back. Business wise musically I envision The Wasafi boss Diamond platinumz
