The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has clarified that Norbert Events is not a staff member or official of the organisation and does not currently hold any position within its structures.
In a statement attributed to PLU Secretary Frank Mwesigye, the organisation said Norbert visited its headquarters like any other supporter or member of the public seeking engagement, guidance or an opportunity to support Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Mwesigye explained that PLU receives more than 500 visitors on some days, adding that the organisation welcomes people regardless of their religion, tribe or political affiliation.
He said Norbert’s presence at the PLU headquarters should therefore not be interpreted as evidence that he holds a position within the organisation.
The clarification comes after attention was drawn to Norbert wearing a T-shirt bearing Gen. Muhoozi’s image during his visit to PLU.

Mwesigye said PLU distributes such T-shirts to members of the public because of demand from supporters and argued that the organisation cannot dictate what visitors choose to wear.
He further described Norbert as an elected NRM LC1 Chairperson in Makindye, rather than a PLU official, and urged the public not to link his visit to PLU with any court cases involving him.
PLU said it will continue welcoming people from different political backgrounds who seek guidance, engagement or wish to support Gen. Muhoozi.
