Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has issued a strong warning over President Yoweri Museveni’s political future, saying supporters will not simply plead with him to seek another term but will push to ensure he does.
Speaking about the matter, Namyalo insisted that the campaign was not about begging the President, but forcing the issue, while raising concerns about the continued struggles facing Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries.
“We’re not pleading, we’re forcing him to,” Namyalo said, arguing that questions remained over who would address the challenges facing people benefiting from the government programme.
She went further, warning that supporters would stage a strike if Museveni refused to stand again, adding that the country would face widespread destruction.
“If President Museveni refuses to stand again, we are going to strike, and we shall burn the whole country,” she said.
Her remarks underscore the intensity of the debate surrounding Museveni’s political future and concerns over the implementation of government programmes at the grassroots level.
