KAMPALA, UGANDA: It was a night of music, comedy, celebrity glamour and regional entertainment as Comedy Store Uganda celebrated its 10th anniversary in spectacular fashion, bringing together some of East Africa’s biggest entertainment names at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday, October 30, 2026.
Headlined by Tanzanian Bongo Flava superstar Diamond Platnumz and Rwandan music sensation The Ben, the anniversary celebration attracted music lovers, celebrities, comedians and entertainment personalities from across the region.

The Journey Begins at Entebbe Airport
The excitement surrounding the highly anticipated show started at Entebbe International Airport, where Diamond Platnumz and The Ben received a warm Ugandan welcome upon arrival.
The arrival of the two regional superstars generated excitement among fans and entertainment followers, setting the stage for what would become a major entertainment gathering.
Diamond arrived with members of his management team, while The Ben was accompanied by his management representatives, including Muyoboke Alexis and Fiacre, alongside members of the Rwandan media.

The two musicians were subsequently welcomed into Kampala, with Diamond’s arrival attracting particular attention from fans eager to see the Tanzanian superstar return to Uganda.
Speaking to journalists at Entebbe Airport, Diamond teased another musical collaboration with The Ben, responding “Very soon!” when asked about their next joint project.
The announcement further heightened anticipation among fans who have continued to enjoy their previous collaboration, Why, released in 2022.
A Special Bond Between Diamond and The Ben
Beyond the performances, the Kampala visit also highlighted the strong friendship and musical relationship between the two regional stars.
During their interaction with the media, The Ben described Diamond Platnumz as an inspiration to musicians across Africa, likening him to a textbook from which artists can continuously learn.
Diamond, on the other hand, expressed his admiration for The Ben, describing him as a brother and hinting at more music together.
Their reunion was particularly significant given the success of their previous collaboration and the excitement surrounding the possibility of another musical project.

Lugogo Takes Centre Stage
Attention eventually shifted to Lugogo Cricket Oval, where Comedy Store founder Alex Muhangi hosted the 10th-anniversary edition under the theme of the Comedy Store UG Retro Tour.
The event brought together a diverse entertainment lineup featuring musicians and comedians from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya.
The atmosphere was characterised by enthusiastic fans, celebrity appearances, energetic performances and a celebration of Uganda’s entertainment industry.
Ugandan musicians, including Rema Namakula, Sheebah Karungi, Spice Diana, Fik Fameica, Winnie Nwagi, Karole Kasita and John Blaq, among others, took part in the entertainment programme.
Rema Namakula and The Ben also shared a memorable musical moment, while several Ugandan performers demonstrated their stage presence and ability to command the audience.
Sheebah Karungi delivered an energetic performance, Spice Diana entertained the crowd with her music and stage presence, while Fik Fameica brought his signature musical energy to the occasion.
The Lion of the West, Ray G, also took to the microphone, adding a regional musical flavour to the celebrations.
Diamond Platnumz and The Ben: The Regional Attraction
Although the event featured several established Ugandan entertainers, the presence of Diamond Platnumz and The Ben remained one of its biggest attractions.
Diamond, popularly known as Simba, headlined the celebration, bringing the international attention associated with his music career and influence across the African entertainment industry.
The Ben’s appearance further strengthened the regional connection, demonstrating the growing relationship between Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania’s entertainment industries.
Their participation was particularly fitting for an anniversary celebrating ten years of Comedy Store, a platform that has consistently brought together comedians, musicians and other creative talents.

A Decade of Comedy Store
For Alex Muhangi and his team, the event represented more than just another entertainment night.
Since its establishment in 2016, Comedy Store has grown into one of Uganda’s recognised entertainment platforms, providing opportunities for comedians, musicians and emerging performers.
The 10th-anniversary celebration was therefore an opportunity to reflect on the platform’s journey while bringing together some of the biggest names in regional entertainment.
From the airport reception to the performances at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Comedy Store @10 demonstrated the power of entertainment in bringing together audiences and artists across borders.
One thing was evident: Comedy Store’s tenth anniversary was not just about celebrating comedy; it was a celebration of music, friendship, regional collaboration and a decade of entertainment.
