State Minister for Local Government and Masaka City Woman MP Hon. Justine Nameere has visited the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretariat in Naguru, where she endorsed Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for Uganda’s presidency in 2031 and beyond.
Nameere’s visit comes just days after a public dispute between her and Gen. Kainerugaba, who on September 20 issued her a 72-hour ultimatum to apologise over remarks linked to a circulating video, warning that failure to do so would lead to her removal from her ministerial position.
Nameere subsequently apologised to the UPDF Chief, maintaining that the video at the centre of the dispute had been maliciously edited and that she had not intended to attack Gen. Kainerugaba. The General later accepted the apology and said the matter was settled, while directing PLU members to stop attacking the minister.
During Tuesday afternoon’s visit to the PLU Secretariat, Nameere joined supporters endorsing Gen. Kainerugaba for the 2031 presidential race and beyond.
She also donated endorsement books intended for Masaka City, as the mobilisation and endorsement exercise continues.
The latest development comes against the backdrop of growing political activity within PLU ahead of the 2031 elections, with supporters using grassroots mobilisation and endorsement drives to rally support for Kainerugaba.
Nameere’s appearance at the PLU Secretariat and her endorsement also mark a notable public moment following the recent disagreement between the minister and the PLU leadership.
